Monica Meyer, PMHNP-BC

Monica Meyer, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, provides services for the assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders for children, adolescents, and adults. She graduated from UVA with her Master’s in Nursing and also holds B.S. degrees in Nursing and Chemistry from VCU. Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, she has resided in Richmond with her family for the past 20 years.

Monica is passionate about a holistic approach to mental health that recognizes pharmacologic approaches as supportive within a broader plan of care. She is particularly interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and works by Russ Harris for informing her approach to client care.

Monica’s interests include depression, anxiety/panic, ADHD, autism and bipolar disorder. Outside of work she enjoys cultivating persimmon trees, gardening, and DIY renovation projects. She is not a certified medical translator but has strong Spanish language skills and is supportive of those with limited English proficiency.
