Samantha is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides services for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders in adults, aged 18+. In the past she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. A major focus of her work has been treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She believes in a collaborative, holistic approach, recognizing the importance of both non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions.
As part of her practice, Samantha does not prescribe high doses of daily, long-term benzodiazepines. However, she enjoys collaborating with patients to taper them off these medications in a safe manner.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Dakota, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a Bachelor of Nursing from Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia.
