Robert J. Marcello, Ph.D., LCP, CCHP

Dr. Marcello is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than thirty years of clinical, administrative, and forensic experience in a variety of healthcare, correctional, and inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings.   

Dr. Marcello has previously worked as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist/Correctional Health Expert, a regional and corporate executive in the correctional healthcare/behavioral healthcare industry, and he is Certified as a Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP) by the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC). He is experienced in clinical oversight and supervision of healthcare and behavioral health programs, and has provided leadership, program development, consultation, clinical evaluations and expert testimony, and technical assistance and operational support to a variety of healthcare, behavioral health, and correctional settings in Virginia and throughout the country. He has also been a leader in quality improvement; assuring best practices in these settings in compliance with state, national, and client standards.  

As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with Dominion Behavioral Healthcare, he provides mental health services for individuals ranging from sixteen years-old through older adults, who are dealing with issues including depression, anxiety, substance use, and serious mental illness. Dr. Marcello is a multimodal therapist, whose approaches include Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.  

Dr. Marcello holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Providence College, in Providence, Rhode Island, and he earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
