Part-Time Psychometrician

Dominion Behavioral Healthcare is currently seeking a part-time Psychometrician to work primarily with our Clinical Neuropsychologist in the administration and scoring of assessment batteries.  The patient population served by Dominion Behavioral Healthcare and Diagnostic Neuropsychology of Virginia is adult-based, 16 years and older.  Patients referred for neuropsychological evaluations either have known or suspected brain injury or disease, or a psychiatric disorder that is suspected to interfere with cognitive processing.  Relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities include excellent communication skills, an ability to work with all types of people in a friendly and compassionate manner, computer skills including basic information processing (e.g., use of Microsoft Office- Word and Excel, Filemaker Pro), basic knowledge of statistics (e.g., means and standard deviations), and knowledge and experience using common psychological and neuropsychological tests; the successful candidate will be trained on specific neuropsychological and psychological tests and measures.   In addition, knowledge of how to conduct literature searches is preferred.  The ideal candidate will have a desire to work with a diverse population (mostly in terms of diagnosis) and to expand their knowledge base.  The psychometrician will work under the clinical supervision of the Neuropsychologist.  This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students who will be applying for a predoctoral clinical internship, or who have a desire to become a neuropsychologist.  This also and excellent opportunity for individuals wishing to pursue higher levels of education within the field of Psychology.  Minimum education requirement is a bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field.

Dominion Behavioral Healthcare is a multidisciplinary group of independent contractors including Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Professional Counselors that have central Virginia for 25 years.  Offices are located in Henrico County on Parham Road and Short Pump on Ridgefield Road and the successful candidate will work primarily out of the Short Pump office.
