Valerie Dalton Acosta is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose clinical practice focuses on facilitating recovery for individuals and families dealing with issues related to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance abuse, parenting/step-parenting, work/life balance, and challenges in relationships. With over twenty years of experience as a counselor, Human Resources consultant, and corporate trainer, Valerie enjoys helping clients not only recover but live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Valerie earned a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from The University of Virginia (1987) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Child Development from Virginia Tech (1985). In 1996, she was recognized as a Virginia Tech Leader, Achiever, and Outstanding Alumna. She also works as a Disaster Mental Health Specialist with the American Red Cross.
Valerie is married and the stepmother of two teenagers.
