Sarah Chakales is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has more than 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of public and private clinical settings. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Loyola University in New Orleans and her Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.
More recently she discovered her own “artist within” and enjoys drawing, painting, and creating mixed media art.
Areas of expertise include assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, couples/family discord as well as grief and loss. Sarah designs therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each client. She draws from a variety of practical and creative interventions to enable her clients to talk with greater ease about sensitive issues, symptoms, concerns, and desire for change. She helps facilitate increased self-awareness, mindfulness and appropriate use of humor to improve daily functioning.
Sarah helps clients identify and access internal strengths and innate abilities to significantly improve self-esteem, confidence, and decision making.
She strives to create a respectful, non-judgmental, solution-focused environment to allow her clients to grow and enjoy an enhanced sense of well-being.
